About Becoming

I'm Jay.

I'm 56. I'm a photographer. I've been doing that since 2009.

Why I started this

I'm still figuring some of it out.

I've made some mistakes. I've changed direction. I've learned a few things. And there are plenty of things I wish someone had told me 15 years ago.

Somewhere around this point in life, things start to change. The kids grow up. Work changes. Relationships change. Your priorities change.

And sometimes, without really noticing it happening, you change too.

I'm not a therapist, psychologist or life expert. I'm a person who's spent a lot of time paying attention to what happens when the life you've built starts to change.

I'm not here because I've discovered the secret to life. I'm here because I think there's something really interesting about what happens when you stop living entirely according to the script you've been following.

Becoming is about looking honestly at where you are, working out what matters now, and then actually doing something about it.

That's what I'm interested in. And I want to explore it with other people.
